Τhe Oath of Alexander the Great

In Opi, a city of ancient Assyria,
Alexander the Great, in 324 BC,
assembled the officers of his army
and all the rulers of his vast empire,
regardless of race and language,
and they all gave together
the Oath of Alexander the Great:

“I wish you now that the wars are over
May you be blessed with Peace.
All mortals, henceforth,
to live as one people united, for the common good.
Consider the World as your Homeland,
by Common Laws,
where the elite will rule, regardless of race.
I don't divide people,
to Greeks and Barbarians.
I don't care about the origin of citizens,
nor the race they were born into.
I divide them by a single criterion, VIRTUE.
For me, every good Foreigner is Greek
and every bad Greek is worse than a Barbarian.
If you ever encounter any differences,
you will not resort to arms,
than you will solve them peacefully.
If necessary, I will be your referee.
You should not think of God
as an authoritarian ruler,
but as the common father of all.
For my part, I consider everyone equal,
white and melancholic.
And I would like you not only to be nationals
of my Commonwealth, but shareholders, all partners.
As long as I can
I will try to make it happen
what I promise.
